Project Background
Baskets to Israel is an online store which sends gift baskets and chocolate arrangements all over Israel. Whether the gift basket is for a family member far from home, a friend, Israeli soldier or terror victim, Baskets to Israel has a wide selection of beautiful packages and offers custom gift baskets as well.
With a recent change in management, Baskets to Israel wanted a website facelift. Its old site lacked a professional look and was not user-friendly. It was looking to achieve an up-to-date look, to improve the customer experience of its website and to increase sales. In addition to the website redesign, the products needed to be properly categorized. Proper product categorization creates a more enjoyable customer experience. And that is a top priority for Baskets to Israel! Finally, the company required assistance with setting up their site in an orderly fashion, enabling an easier and more efficient management of the business.

Personal Guidance and Goal Setting
I worked with Yaakov Males, the owner of Baskets to Israel, to redesign his website. After helping him research to find a product photographer and an SEO expert, we dove right in to the website redesign itself. First, we carefully assessed his business, its needs and his old website. I focused on what he wanted to improve, to change and the user-experience of his website. Yaakov stressed that he wanted to be able to manage his website on his own and easily. He wanted his customers to have a good experience as well. Therefore, the website needed to have a professional up-to-date look, be easy to use and perform at high speed. Next, we focused on the tone of his website, the colors and fonts suitable for his brand and product categorization.
A Website That Will Impress and Run Efficiently
With SEO guidance from Ruti Dadash, an expert in SEO, I redesigned Baskets to Israel’s ecommerce website with a fresh new look. I also improved Baskets to Israel’s efficiency in running their online store by enabling them to manage which products and categories are featured seasonally, reprogramming the order numbering system and setting up free shipping for products shipped to IDF soldiers and Israeli terror victims. Additionally, I revised the checkout page so the store would get all the necessary information to deliver the gift baskets with ease.
Customers First!
As the project progressed, two more steps were added to improve the website. First, the search bar results were improved to yield more accurate results. Second, I implemented the SEO expert’s suggestions after she analyzed the SEO strategies and the user experience of the website.
Ready to Go Forward with Confidence
I wrapped up the project with testing and improving site speed and creating custom video tutorials. The tutorials help to familiarize Baskets to Israel with the how-to of running of their online store, learning to manage and update the site on their own.

We had a website on an old platform and were looking to update it, to add new features and to give the website a new look. Rocheli Elefant did a wonderful job – it is simply a work of art! She dealt with every detail that we needed handled for this project. Rocheli built a plan that met our needs. The whole process was done very professionally and thoroughly with a lot of patience. We were very happy with her work and hope to carry on working with her in the future.
